Charlaine Harris, the author of the Sookie Stackhouse Series is looking forward to the 10th book in the series to be released on May 4th. Dead in the Family, picks up where Dead and Gone left off. Sookie has settled down with her Viking lover Eric after her horrific kidnapping by the fairies. She has a lot of emotional and physical healing to do as do her friends. Sam is having to face the repercussions of the weres coming out to the world while the vampires are still trying to make their way in human society. Harris' novels have always been a bestseller among the vampire mystery fans but have really found a huge following once it has been adapted into the HBO television series, True Blood. True Blood has been criticized with not keeping with the story line of the book series by changing the series characters to totally different characters. An example of this is Tara. In the book Tara is a white girl who owns the local dress shop, however in the television series she is a black girl who works as a waitress with Sookie. This is one of the characters that Alan Ball has taken liberties with, but he has made it worked. Many fans of both the book and show have taken the stand of enjoying both as what they are- one a book and one a television series. Dead in the Family's first chapter is available on Harris website. It is a very interesting read that leaves the reader wanting more. But it also leaves us wondering if the rumors are true. Here are a few that may or may not be true- we will just have to wait and see. Possible Rumors/ Spoilers * Eric's maker and brother will be in this series * Sookie will meet more of her family * Bill can only be healed by a blood sibling * There are more problems coming for the shifters and weres * Jason will become a more important character in this book
