December 2, 2002 (ananova.com) - A vampire enthusiast drives her daughter to school in a hearse. Rachel Ellam-Lloyd uses the 23-year-old 19ft-long hearse to take daughter Georgina to school in Northolt, West London.

The six-year-old sits in the back where the coffin should be and waves at passers-by through the purple curtains.

Mrs Ellam-Lloyd's husband D'Wayne bought the hearse for £500 after seeing it for sale in a magazine, says The Sun.

The 37-year-old is a horror film fan who also uses the hearse to go shopping and attend meetings of the Vampire Connections group.

"People think I'm being ghoulish, but I just love driving the hearse. Georgina loves it too. She just sits and waves at passers-by. Nobody can believe their eyes," Mrs Ellam said.

I woke and remembered you were gone.

I remember the perfect way your hand fir mine, The sweet taste of your lips.

I once saw heaven in your eyes, I now see hell in his.

I am drowning in solitude again.

What do you see, with camera in hand
Each pose of a memory, virtue and sin
Clicking thousands of times
For the one chance gaze of a time yet passed
Brushing golden hair, from star lined eyes
Lulling the beasts to slumber
Rise and fall, such titanic feasts
Soiled hands without the spectrum of light
Have you ever let another, hold the picture of you?
With every shot, each different angle
Not possible to capture such beauty
Crawl or Kneel, touch the lens
Fingers dipping into this soul each night

In the Blood
Any broad exploration of pre-Industrial European society cannot help but touch upon the plethora of peasant tales that both served to entertain the populace and teach morality to the children of Europe. On surface examination, at least, this function of folklore seems apparent enough. It is a perfectly valid assessment of the function of common fable--but in many respects, it is inadequate.

Is There A True "American Vampire" Myth?
The European settlers and African slaves brought the vampire mythology of their homelands to the New World. In some cases these myths became intertwined as settlers from many backgrounds melded into a single nation. While Native American mythology has some very fascinating monsters, some of them being flesh-eaters, others being shape-changers, none are true bloodsuckers. Yet, there is a true "American vampire," one born of this young nation, one found only here in America. This vampire is much more than a meld of the beliefs of the Native Americans and those of our forefathers.
