Taken from the pages of the renowned novel itself, comes "Journal of the Vampire [1] Claws of Darkness."

Here’s what you can expect: The small border town of Santa Anna, Mexico is no stranger to violence. Yet the gruesome death of a local gang member on the outskirts of town further heightens tensions. So when a mysterious stranger arrives in town shortly thereafter, the locals become leery--who is this man and what is his background? Are the stranger and the resent murders in some way related to local drug kingpin Gino Carlos? Unlikely! As the stranger begins to investigate the string of bizarre murders, the townsfolk realize there is much more to this newcomer than meets the eye.

Will he get to the bottom of these deaths, or will death come seeking him first?

"Claws of Darkness" will take readers on a wild blood-soaked ride into the world of the undead. The beautiful paints and water-coloring will astonish, as well as serve to immerse readers into the twisting tale of the supernatural filled with taboo occult rituals and all out action

Vampire hunter Nicholas Bane is more than a blade-wielding tracker with a prejudice against bloodsuckers. To learn his true power and intent, pick up "Journal of the Vampire [1] Claws of Darkness #1." Hunting Season begins this winter!

Lore of the Vampire
The vampire has held its place in superstition as long as any other creature. The vampire of today is, for the most part, quite different from the one of ancient times. In researching the vampire lore, I attempted to find out just how different they are. I wondered what people thought of them now compared to yesteryear.

Death to the wicked, I declare
Peace to the restless whom I scare
Kill for spite;
What an appetite
For destruction it is that I have
Listening for my scream
Seeing my delight
Madness in my eyes
Sparkles very bright
Searing heat seizes me;
Chilling coldness grips
My body rebels that which is given
For now I cannot see
Laughing just for spite
Crying out with all my might
Pleading with the lion;
The Unicorn roars into the night
Stars sparkle and shine
I am losing my mind

Throughout the ages, attacks on people have been attributed to supernatural creatures like werewolves and vampires, but in 1886, a German neurologist named Richard von Krafft-Ebing noted the compulsive and sexual presentation of the attacks. He wrote about them in Psychopathia Sexualis, and many of his 238 case histories concerned a violent eroticism triggered by blood.

Man, I saw something last night.
It was great - I was flyin' high on a nicotine buzz and those four double shots of old Mr. Daniels
Were just starting to reach my head

when I saw something
something so great,
so inspirational

That I stopped dead in my tracks
transfixed
But roaring thunder crashed behind my back
Shaking my reverie apart with anticipation
And, like a drunk without a bottle
I tore the night a new asshole
With a cackle, the mad, triumphant laugh
Of a wise man dancing with ludicrosity

Me
not the mask but-
the one behind it.
The one always searching,
seeking,
for answers too eluding,
escaping,
seeping through the cracks-
of consiousness and into-
my being.
Me
I am not the mask but-
the person behind it.
I have feelings,
thoughts,
expressions-
words.
I am me.
Not a doll but-
Me.
