I am her Lancelot and she is my Gwenevere.
A queen skilled in things both earthy and divine.
Of all men I alone see her fully.
I alone can possess her whole.

I am a pillar in her castle.
Cool and quiet, I am invisible

So still and strong that though I hide nothing
they cannot see me at all.

Through all days I stand sentinel over her.
I watch her ally, decieve, enlighten, defend.
The knights at court are pawns before her will
and through them she can achieve great ends.

Vampire Fraud
Serial killer John George Haigh knew the power of the monstrous image to incite horror into people's minds, and even today he is cited as a murderer who drank a cup of blood from his victims before getting rid of their bodies. He's found on nearly every list of "modern vampires," which attests to his own insight in just how far his legend would carry. However, there's no evidence that he had such a fetish and plenty of reason to believe that he was malingering a mental illness that would get him sent to a mental institution.

You want to find vampire books, of course. Other than the word "vampire" in the title, what will tip you off? You look at the cover paintings.

She restlessly fingered her parasol, mechanically describing magic circles in the sand. Ernest lay at her feet. With his knees clasped between his hands, he gazed into her eyes.
