August 27, 2007 (SciFi Wire) -- Twentieth Century Fox TV and Fox have sealed a talent deal with Buffy the Vampire Slayer alumna Eliza Dushku (Faith) to star in a new project for the studio and network, Variety reported.

Dushku last starred in Fox's Tru Calling, about a young morgue attendant who finds herself reliving days. Dushku most recently starred in the Fox pilot Nurses.

The studio is now starting to integrate Dushku into the development process, giving her a chance to familiarize herself with some of the writers who have deals at 20th.

Both Fox and 20th said they were impressed by Dushku's versatility, given the actor's experience in comedy (the feature Bring It On), action and drama. Dushku's film credits include True Lies.

The Vampyre - John William Polidori

"The Vampyre" is a short story written by John William Polidori and is a progenitor of the romantic vampire genre of fantasy fiction.  It was first published on April 1, 1819, by Colburn in the New Monthly Magazine with the false attribution "A Tale by Lord Byron." The name of the work's protagonist, "Lord Ruthven," added to this assumption, for that name was originally used in Lady Caroline Lamb's novel Glenarvon, in which a thinly-disguised Byron figure was also named Lord Ruthven. Despite repeated denials by Byron and Polidori, the authorship often went unclarified.

Why does Bollywood's "Dracula" have no bite?
