Karen Chance
http://www.karenchance.com

Karen Chance grew up in Orlando, Florida, the home of make-believe, which probably explains a lot. She has since resided in France, Great Britain, Hong Kong and New Orleans, mostly goofing off but occasionally teaching history. She is currently back in Florida courtesy of Katrina, where she continues writing while dodging hurricanes (and occasionally drinking a few).

Her Cassandra Palmer novels (Touch the Dark, Claimed by Shadow and Embrace the Night) are USA Today and New York Times bestsellers, and a new series begins with the novel Midnight's Daughter (October 2008). Check out KarenChance.com for excerpts, trailers, contests and more.

There are essentially three roles of women in the vampire world. Women may be victims or vampires themselves. Influenced by Fiction
Allan Menzies, 22, used to view the vampire film, Queen of the Damned, over and over and over. He admitted that he had obsessively watched his "queen," Akasha, more than 100 times. His fixation on her and his beliefs about how this cruel vampire stepped out of the role and into his life to barter for his soul eventually turned deadly.

Everyone dreams, yes you and me
We dream of lives wild and free
Full of mystical beings and more
Will it hold mystery, magic, or gore
You never can tell what a dream will be
Just close your eyes and you will see
Dreams are there to calm the soul
To mend your body, to make you whole
Dreams you dream can take you away
To dance where unicorns and pegusi play
Remember your dreams as best you can
Picture the beach and warm, golden sand
Dreams are there to set you free
Among the clouds or rippling sea

Set my mentor, Egyptian God of evil and darkness,
Has given me the dark gift,
A prisoner of the night am I,
A rich Dacian merchant in ancient Rome,
It was there that I met my fair Olivia.

In the early hours of twilight she emerged from the Coliseum,
More beautiful than a Carpathian rose that blooms in the early Spring,
Her essence, naive, sweet and pure,
I looked into her eyes,
Suddenly I was aware,
That it was only for her that my heart did beat!

For centuries the joy of love had evaded me!

September 01, 2007 (San Marcos Daily Record) -- Witnesses say it looks like a cross between a dinosaur and a vampire. Others say it’s a hopping wolf with red eyes and a trail of foul smell, while some claim it resembles a small panther with a forked tongue. No matter the description, the name is the same: chupacabra.
