Chapter 31
With the first flush of the morning Ethel appeared at the door of the house on Riverside Drive. She had not heard from Ernest, and had been unable to obtain connection with him at the telephone. Anxiety had hastened her steps. She brushed against Jack, who was also directing his steps to the abode of Reginald Clarke.

Chapter 30
Silently the two men faced each other. Then Ernest hissed:
"Thief!"
Reginald shrugged his shoulders.
"Vampire!"
"So Ethel has infected you with her absurd fancies! Poor boy! I am afraid.... I have been wanting to tell you for some time.... But I think... We have reached the parting of our road!"

Chapter 29
The next morning's mail brought a letter from Ethel, a few lines of encouragement and affection. Yes, she was right; it would not do for him to stay under one roof with Reginald any longer. He must only obtain the manuscript and, if possible, surprise him in the attempt to exercise his mysterious and criminal power.

Chapter 28
Terrible as was his loneliness, a meeting with Jack would have been more terrible. And, after all, it was true, a gulf had opened between them.

Chapter 27
Reginald Clarke had hardly left the room when Ernest hastily rose from his seat. While it was likely that he would remain in undisturbed possession of the apartment the whole morning, the stake at hand was too great to permit of delay.

Global warming brings vampire moths to Finland
June 4, 2007 (Reuters / Helsinki) --
Global warming is bringing more warmer-climate creatures to Finland, including moths that feast on human blood, according to nature researchers. Insect-watchers are spotting more and more calpe moths in the Nordic country, which used to be considered too cold for the insects from southeast Asia, Finnish nature magazine "Suomen Luonto" reported in its June edition.

Refusal
I'm not really sure how to say it,
and I'm not quite positive I mean it,
but it's been resting there
in the back of my head
and I really don't know how to sleep.
My attention is just so far off,
and nothing can shake me out of it,
it's like I'm caught in here
waiting for something unknown
can you show me which way the exit is?
My existance means nothing anymore,
and you're constantly nudging my back,
I wish you would just stop it
quit trying to push me forward

As I stand in the rain
I curse the gods and this killing pain
you took the one that loved me so
as she departs I now must go
I have a life to live
she dosen't have any life to give
we are the same
we are the immortals
we are the damned
the people that are walked upon
fear not my child
for I have the life
and now must give it to you
as you read this do not weep
my troubles are over I now can sleep
my love is here and always shall be
my love is here
my DarkLady
