So languid in your carefree world,
My voice lost to the wind.
Watching, waiting.
We danced through the cobalt night,
And it was right for just a minute.
For a moment I soar,
As I picture you here;
A friend.
Yet your voice speaks against your face;
Your words like fire,
The dark mist of dreams burnt off by your laugh.
I swear it won't be like this again,
Until I see your smile
And forget your laugh.

and my confidence has died.
I hear a freight-train in my room,
and a creaking in the den..
I feel the icy breath of doom
so I sit down and count to ten.
I swallow the pill,
knock back a drink.
I shiver from the chill.
The dark lives thick as ink.
The thoughts are racing through my mind.

I wake with a start, eyes flicking open and scanning around me.

The room is quite light where the curtains are letting in the beams of the full moon.

In the distance a fox barks, probably what woke me.

I feel alone and uneasy for a moment, then my sleepy mind remembers you are with me.

Your warm body next to me in our bed, your steady breathing comforts me.
