Sometimes you'll hear someone say that they 'wasted the best years of their life' or 'gave someone the best years of their life'.

I began thinking about those statements, and trying to pin point exactly when the best years have been, are or will be, in my life. 

Would I want to go back and live my life over, or freeze my twenties as the point where I would love to be, calling them my best years? No Not really. I do not want to be twenty again. I am so much more now, I know so much more now, and a few lines on my eyes are not worth giving up what I have now.

Can I select some perfect run  of a few years in my teens? No, again there isn't so much I'd call my best in those years either. 

Or in my 30's. No, nothing in my thirties would make me want to call those the best either. Though they were a far cry better than my 20's.

So I look at now. I could say that these are the best years of my life, that I know myself better, I can choose friends and companions better, I'm more at peace, and confident in my life. Yet....in looking at what it took to get here, and how my life becomes increasingly better as time goes by,

Maybe the best years of my life, are yet to be lived.
