For some people the idea of a sanctuary is a state of mind, a place that they can imagine and go to within themselves that is away from the outside world where they can recharge and center. For others the idea of setting the mood or space is something outside of themselves like a room or place they actually go that surrounds themselves with scents and sounds and lighting or environment that lets them release or find focus.
I'm curious to know how many of you have a personal sanctuary and what those are.

I have a place that I go, wich I call The palace of Crows. Its my sanctuary. It's in a clearing in a wooded area close to where I live. it's quiet and peacefull and the most amazing thing happens at sun set. When the sun starts to go down all the crows that nest around the clearing set off to hunt at the same time. Its one of the most butiful things I have seen and it help center me emotionaly

I retreat within myself. I live in a very industrial city (odd for Canada, but regardless...), so I can't trust a place to not be tainted in some way...
