Golden Eyes
Review by Dice, submitted on 2-Mar-1995

In the novel, there are different types of vampires... meaning that there are different degrees of vampirism. Vampires are *born* in the novel, so depending on the amount of vampire in your mom and pop, you might be a Primo vamp (having 50% or more vampire in you) or something lower... (below that 50% mark)

The vampires aren't immortal, but they do live for 1000's of years. The main bad guy, Gestern, was around since Christ, and it is even alluded to in the novel that Christ went to Gestern at one point for help... then he was crucified... Anyway...

The vampires are alive, and reproduce, and *can* read minds, but the novel also employs magic and witches, with the vampires using magic to become more powerful. It is a different slant on the myth, and is a little Lumloony, too, as the root of the vampire is a little slug-like creature that lives in your stomach.

The novel mixes christianity, cults, witches, vampires, slugs and magic to make a pretty cool thing. Eye-wink

yeah, I know, pretty sorry review. But this isn't one, so there. Smiling

It isn't that highbrow, really, but it is worth the $5 I paid for it.
