Weakest link

When an old friend from graduate school contacts Fred for help with her job at a top scientific facility, Fred feels a mixture of dread about renewing ties to her past and wistfulness for the quiet life she might have led entrenched in her research. But the night they are supposed to meet, her friend is gunned down, the seemingly innocent victim of a mob hit gone wrong. Fred is inconsolable.

Although Angel and the others want to help, they have been called upon to solve a rash of murders among a group of wizards. Vampire Killers

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines the word vampire as "the reanimated body of a dead person believed to come from the grave at night and suck the blood of persons asleep." Since the word was first coined in 1734 the myth of the vampire has grown, entering into popular culture with the publication of Bram Stoker's Dracula in 1897 and more recently through the books of Anne Rice, the most famous of which, Interview with a Vampire, was made into a film starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt.

Chapter 38: Refocus

*blinks at the vividness of the memories* 'Now why would I be thinking of back then.....that was ages ago.' She looks up and sees Deadend smile and then start cleaning glasses. Koreena stands and moves over to the bar. Sitting down at one of the tall stools, she looks at him.

"Well barkeep", she grins, "Its nice to see you again. Now, what do you recommend tonight?" She spreads her pale fingers over the counter top. "And is there anything you think I should worry about?" Her gaze flickers momentarily to the room the others had been in.

The Bridge

Perhaps the most iconic image from Legend is the ravaged Brooklyn bridge, its middle span destroyed by a bomb to quarantine New York in one of the film's crucial action sequences.
