Join your horror hostell Morella as she reveals her All-Night Spooktacular Dusk-to-Dawn Horror-thon! First, Grave of the Vampire stars William Smith and Michael Pataki in one of the strangest vampire films ever as a mother impregnated by a vampire cuts herself in order to feed her newborn son, who grows up to hunt down his bloodsucking dad! Presented widescreen, 1.85:1. Then Boris Karloff heads south of the border to Mexico for House of Evil, where he plays the patriarch of a dysfunctional family killed off one at a time by murderous toys! Karloff works the old pipe organ for all it's worth as the place burns to the ground. Rarely seen int he U.S., this is the only gothic horror Karloff appeared in among his four Mexican "epics." Finally, what's a creepy night at the movies without something from schlockmeister par excellence, Andy Milligan. Here Morella unveils Guru, the Mad Monk, the only Millian opus filmed in 35mm. Marvel at the bad acting and threadbare historical costuming (reportedly created by the director himself!) and cringe at the blood and gore in an assault on the senses that will leave you reeling!

The sky is so deep, so dark

The light of the stars is so damn stark

When I look into the heavens, I fill with fear

If all we have, is what lies hear

in this lonely world, this troubled place

With cold dead stars and empty space

I see no reason to persevere

No reason to laugh nor to weep

None to sleep or ever to wake

No promises to keep or none to make

And so at night, I still look upon the heavens

To study the clear, but mysterious skies

Dracula: once bitten, forever smitten
From Dracula to Lestat to Mona the Vampire, the thirst for vampire novels is unquenchable. They've been examined from every conceivable angle, done to death as it were, and yet literature about them proliferates at greater speed than vampires themselves could ever hope to. So what is it about books featuring the undead that holds us so much in thrall?

You should cut the lieing tongue of your love

into a million tiny bits of bile you swallow,

while tiny tremble water drop

right between your eyes

because you said you loved me and you lied

you lied.

All you wanted was to rid me of pride

to ruin me for tenderness,

you lied

you lied.

And while i still love you like a river

Souls sing through the night,

The living hear the song...They just don't know it.

Hiding from the light...working to the bone,

Walking home through darkened unlit streets....hungry...

Listening to the songs, being proof the dead never sleep.

Turning down an avenue and finding a child in a doorway...you try to hide yourself from sight.

No matter how hard you try the child listens and raises her head, listening to your song.

The moments come and go, painfully slow
A stillness in the air, as time decides to stop
Thoughts slipping through a passage of the mind
Quivering as they wish to explode across the void
It is these days that I detest; patience wears thin
Teetering on the edge of love and life
Yet the phone does not ring and the mail is late
How long should I give and never receive
Coming so close only to pull away once more
Awkwardness riddling two paths becoming one
Wicked are the clouds that swirl with abandonment
