Ron Chaney's hillside home near Palm Springs doesn't look much like a haunted house, but he always looks forward to getting it ready for Halloween. Chaney is, after all, a descendent of monsters.

My enemy died today.
Left this Earth to better places.
I miss him.

He was the cause of fear, lessons,
and time being wasted in thoughts
of revenge.

He was memories invoked, to
cause me gratitude in my sorrow.
Now, silent.

He caused me to change. to grow.
I'd gnash my teeth to think he might
have known this.

He made me face myself, my demons,
and in my fear, my anger..my faith
bloomed in a way it could not have otherwise.

I am more enraged now that he is gone,

The Darkness is your gravest fears,
and your gravest foes,
and your dimmest thoughts;
This Darkness, that Darkness,
its all the same Darkness
which chases so many
including myself.

This Darkness in my heart,
that Darkness about my soul,
thhe Darkness behind my eyes
dictating my every thought.

The Darkness surrounds and
engulfs my very being and
existance.
